About the Project

Inspiration

As a passionate follower of the cryptocurrency market since 2017, I've observed a common trend among investors and traders: many base their decisions solely on price, often overlooking the crucial aspects of supply and demand. Specifically, the impact of circulating token supplies, which evolve over time, is frequently underestimated. This oversight can leave investors puzzled when their holdings don't recover to previous highs. Our project, Tokenomics Visualizer, was inspired by the need to bridge this knowledge gap, providing a tool for investors to gain a deeper understanding of these critical market dynamics.

What We Learned

Throughout the development of Tokenomics Visualizer, our team gained invaluable insights into the complexities of cryptocurrency markets. We delved deep into the mechanics of tokenomics, learning how token supply distribution and market prices are intricately linked. On the technical front, we honed our skills in real-time data processing, interactive chart visualization, and creating a user-friendly interface that simplifies complex data.

How We Built It

Tokenomics Visualizer is built on a robust tech stack. The frontend is developed with React, incorporating Chart.js for dynamic data visualization. Our backend, hosted on AWS, leverages Apache Kafka and Cassandra for efficient data handling and scalability. The integration of these technologies allows us to process and display real-time Ethereum data, with plans to expand to other cryptocurrencies.

Challenges Faced

One of the main challenges we encountered was ensuring the seamless integration of live data feeds into the application. Balancing the high-throughput demands of real-time data with a responsive and intuitive user interface required careful planning and optimization. Additionally, simplifying the complex concept of tokenomics into an easily digestible format presented a unique design challenge.

A significant hurdle we faced was in deployment. Initially, our goal was to deploy the application using Equinix cloud services. However, we encountered deployment issues that proved to be a substantial challenge within our time constraints. To ensure timely completion and maintain the quality of our application, we made a strategic decision to switch to AWS. This pivot, while challenging, allowed us to leverage AWS's robust and reliable infrastructure, ensuring the stability and scalability of our application.
