Inspiration for this painting was my excitement about the future of Education and it's immersive nature. I believe that the Internet of the Future will facilitate technologies such as Virtual and Augmented reality to flourish, in turn creating one of the most powerful tools for educators. Experiences in Mixed Reality allow students to learn by doing not just listening and reading from a textbook like it used to be in the past. Pupils will now be able to touch and manipulate objects, meaning they can gain a deeper understanding of how things work. I also imagine students working collaboratively with each other in a global classroom. On this painting you can see a teacher exploring VR for the first time. It was inspired by a real time event when a friend of mine who is a teacher borrowed my Oculus Quest.
