Inspiration
Have you ever tried to check your account balance or do a bank transfer but you could not because there was no Internet connection in your phone? For the moment you could feel like a millions of people throughout the World that either cannot afford a smartphone to use banking apps or live in underdeveloped areas with poor or no cellular internet connection.
According to researchers from STL Partners (Understanding the unconnected - https://stlpartners.com/research/understanding-why-half-the-people-in-the-world-dont-have-access-to-the-internet) at the end of 2017 47% of world's population did not use Internet (either because of choice or network limitation). Same study points the importance and benefits of being connected (access to banking mentioned on first position).
We can't force anyone to use banks' mobile apps or bring internet access to everyone BUT the thing we can do is to bring mobile banking to people who lives in areas where mobile network speed is not sufficient enough to use mobile apps or to people who are covered but for some other reasons do not use internet.
We are here to allow such people get access to mobile banking just by using simple SMS messaging.
What it does
Our app is designed to receive SMS messages sent to the bank and transform them into concrete actions. Maybe you would like to check your accounts? Just send list my accounts and you will get the information back in no time. Also in order to improve security we have also implemented voice callbacks used to authorise payments.
How we built it
Application is built on top of FFDC account and payments APIs. Communication between application and the consumer was built in cooperation with our partner Vonage, which is a platform that provides various communication APIs including SMS and voice calls.

To get started just send a text message to Bank on +48 459 050 159 with simple text like: 'get accounts' (we enabled traffic from any phone number), next you can perform internal transfer from one account to another. Except confirmation text message you can check transaction history in our webapp https://fmb-hacka-frontend.herokuapp.com/ (user name: ffdcuser1, pass: 123456) Now it is time to send some money externally. Check defined recipients by text (get recipients) or in webapp - defined list. When you initial a transfer you will receive a phone call from Bank to confirm such transfer just enter pin 1234 and you are done. Simple isn't it? Happy (fusion) mobile banking;)
