Inspiration

The Microsoft and Cloudforce sponsorship track at PatriotHacks 2024, "Innovate the Future", was the primary motivation and inspiration for the project. The prompt for the track is as follows:

"Design and develop a creative, AI-powered tool using Azure OpenAI and other Microsoft technologies that enhance the functionality, sustainability, educational, and user experience of The Fuse at Mason Square in Arlington, VA."

Our method of enhancing the user experience of the building is to create an interactive art exhibit.

What it does

It allows the user to doodle a sketch on a touch screen and this sketch is used as inspiration for a unique AI-generated design that can be displayed as an interactive art piece on an electronic touchscreen.

How we built it

We used React for the frontend and Azure OpenAI to generate the artwork.

Challenges we ran into

We were unfamiliar with the Azure OpenAI API and struggled with incorporating it in our project. Eventually, we overcame this hurdle and successfully integrated Azure OpenAI.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We are proud of creating a simple and intuitive interface to allow people to express their creativity with the help of generative AI. We overcame the hurdle of integrating Azure OpenAI into our project with little prior experience with the platform.

What we learned

We learned how to leverage Azure OpenAI to unleash people's creativity and imagination.

What's next for Fuse-n-Touch

We want to add more options for drawing sketches and more control over the AI-generated designs. We would also like to make the image generation faster.
