Inspiration
"The Furry Friends" project was inspired based on the increasing need to produce efficient pet care services, which aims to simplify or work more efficiently in managing a pet shop and keeping pets with high welfare and customer satisfaction at optimum levels.
What it does
"Furry Friends" is a thorough system of pet shop management, which includes operations such as the sales of pets and products, stock management, appointment schedules, client servicing, and even integration of online payments.
How we built it
In this case, we are using a web application framework with the back-end written in Java and SQL for the database, but the front-end is developed using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. We have extensively used Razorpay to integrate payments in a secured manner and MySQL for data storage.
The challenges we faced
We fought hard to integrate a payment scheme which had to be secure enough and handle multiple simultaneous requests from different users. It was also difficult to design the interface in a manner that would be both easy for administrators to use and for customers to use as well.
Things we are proud of
We developed a smooth payment module, comfortable dashboards, and robust server operations. We managed a system that is not only secure but efficient in real time transactions and easy pet management.
What we learned
The valuable experience we gain with the web application development, secure integration of payment, and database management. We also learned the concept of user-centered design and system scalability.
Future Plan
More pet options, veterinary services, personalized recommendations to the user basis on care of pets, and richness in user profiles with more customization that will be used for providing a more tailored experience.
