I was influenced by the Covid-19 Pandemic to create this app. Due to the pandemic, online shopping has been through the roofs, but it hasn't been that great. Pictures of products on websites don't look like the actual product. I decided to create a platform that allows customers to be able to see the products in real time without having to spend time at a store. By being ale to view the product in your house without having to purchase it, customers are now able to "place" the augmented furniture or appliances where ever they want. This tool takes out the guessing of buying furniture and appliances. With EchoAR's software, I created a platform that uses AR to place furniture on a flat surface. I used EchoAr's platform for the AR aspect of my project and HTML/CSS/JS for the website (I used W3 Schools for a starting template). The main challenges that I faced were with EchoAR's platform. Every few minutes, the Website would read “ Internal Server Error” or unable to find image. To go about this, I had to wait a few minutes for it to work. Another problem that I faced was that the IOS Mobile app wasn't working as intended, so I had to reach our to the CEO of EchoAR, who told me that I have to use a different website for the product scanning. I had a few troubles with the audio in my video as my computer microphone was a bit glitchy. I plan to use this project as a way to help other furniture businesses and other product companies, so that they can still attract customers who prefer to stay at home.
