Who we are?

We are a team of 2 girls (Neha and Dvita).

Inspiration

Our team was inspired to build this app because it is very important for kids to learn English, and we wanted to help out with that process.

What does our app do?

Our app teaches English to beginners.

Challenges and Accomplishments

Some challenges we faced were...

-One challenge we had was making the voice say out the letter when we type it. We solved this by changing the code and adding a new screen where the letter and voice would be shown. Some of our accomplishments we are proud of…

-Another challenge was making both the capital and lowercase version of that letter appear even if we only typed the lowercase or uppercase version. This was very challenging for us, and in the end, needed help from a mentor. This taught us both more about coding and made it easier to code the rest of our app!

-One accomplishment was making the Signup and Login pages work. We did this by using firebase to save the username and password. Then we used the information stored for the login page.

-In this course, we learned what Firebase was. We used this component in our sign-in page and our login page.

What’s next for our project?

In the future, we plan on…

-In the future, we would love to add more components to our app. Right now, we have 4 levels. We would like to expand on this and create over 10 levels!

-To test the knowledge our users have learned throughout the lesson, we will add a quiz they will take each time they finish a level.

-To connect with our users, we would like it if we could work one on one with our users to help them more with their English learning experience.
