Inspiration

Welcome to funHealth, the app centered around emotional and mental health.

Our idea is inspired by how the Covid-19 pandemic has influenced our lives, shifting the way that we spend our days and the activities that we do. This app aims to promote emotional & mental health, and how we can cope with our feelings during this stressful, unpredictable time.

Description

This app aims to help people CONNECT WITH FRIENDS, while staying at home and practicing social distancing. funHealth serves as a FUN way for users to let loose and cope with being at home alone, encouraging mental health by promoting connections/chats with friends, a game for keeping your mind healthy, while also providing mental health tips, and humorous memes/jokes for stress relieving.

Through this app, users can: [1] login and join a CHAT/GROUPCHAT with their friends [2] play a memory GAME [3] scroll through MEMES/JOKES

This is a great way to let loose and cope with being at home alone.

Again, not only can you chat with friends, but you can also laugh about different memes/jokes, and play a memory game that is great for keeping your MIND HEALTHY AND SHARP. Each time you match a set, you are offered a TIP FOR MENTAL HEALTH...and you can share you scores with friends.

How I built it

We used HTML, CSS, and Javascript, and different features of Google Cloud.

Challenges I ran into

We initially ran into the challenges of formatting, for example with different images not showing up, or not fitting the div features accordingly. There were also some struggles with hosting towards the end.

Accomplishments that I'm proud of

We are especially proud of the user interface/design of our app, as well as the little features, like some of the responsive portions of the app, along with the greeting popup, different modals for the game, and more.

What I learned

We learned how to implement features using Google Cloud, along with how to test/fix bugs in a more timely fashion. We also learned how to split code/work on different code modules to work more efficiently.
