Inspiration

Through a problem that we have experienced ourselves to varying degrees, we where passionate about creating the solution to inequality of resources/ money that lower income sports team have. We set out to create a fundraising platform that levels the playing field for low income sports team to compete with even the most well funded sports teams. This allows young athletes from any background have an equal opportunity to succeeding.

What it does

Fundraiser makes the fundraising process simple and fast for all stake holders involved. We not only take minuets instead of weeks to go through the entire fundraising process, we create new opportunities to fundraise even more capital. We do this through our 4 fundraising options with more to come and make it easy to keep track of it all while automating the process of dispersing merch to doners through an automated while label process!

How we built it

We built an automated fundraising app using React Native with TypeScript for the frontend and Strapi as the backend CMS. Strapi was used to create and manage content types for Admin user, school sport teams, and sponsors, including defining sponsorship tiers and their relationship. The frontend uses React navigation for dynamic pages, and displaying data fetched from Strapi. This integration allows seamless user-specific content updates and automated sponsorship management.

Challenges we ran into

The biggest problem we ran into was learning not to "over engineer" the product to make things that the user would not find use in, or that would make the application overly complicated, leaving the app not being used, and the problem end up not being solved.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We are proud that our app has a UI/UX advantage over the competition. This is something we spent a lot of time creating to make sure that the most tech savvy enthusiast can enjoy and being elegant enough that those of the coaching world that are not as acclimated with technology can pick up the phone and start fundraising with virtually no learning curve.

What we learned

What's next for Fundraiser

Fundraisers next steps is to be put to use in the real world!!! As Jaden Walton has coached, and currently coaches at two sports organizations, we have already asked and have been excepted to be used for both organizations in the coming weeks! We will be implemented at Loveland High School and Queen City Vault academy!
