FUNancial Buddy

Inspiration

Our team is passionate about spreading financial knowledge. In our personal time we like spending time learning about FIRE. This project is to help those people that love spending money and believe a budget is too much to handle.

What it does

FUNancial Buddy has three main sections:

Learning: Users get to learn about simple financial terms along with actions they can take to start financial journey. Investing: Users can see predicted earning from different investing opportunities. Spending and Saving: Users can figure out ways to spend their money responsibly.

How we built it

We built a full stack web application. The frontend is developed using Node.js, React framework, Tailwind CSS, and Vite for development server. Our backend is written in Python using Express.

Challenges we ran into

We ran into problems with CSS styling, CORS access control with our Flask server.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We are proud of coming up with a unique idea. We are also proud of working on this project nonstop for 24hrs and making it look presentable.

What we learned

We learned about Tailwind CSS and fast brainstorming. We learned valuable time management skills that allowed us to work individually and collaboratively.

What's next for FUNancial Buddy

We want to implement a database that stores items to purchase. We want all our items prices to be updated automatically by API's.
