Inspiration

I’ve always loved exploring Seattle on foot. I wanted to create this simple tool utilizing Google's Photorealistic 3D Maps to help people find an interesting walk and discover beautiful and unique locations.

What it does

Whether you’re a local looking for a fresh perspective or a traveler eager to explore, Fun Seattle Walks provides you with six curated picturesque walks available in Seattle, and they all end at an interesting location.

Challenges I ran into

Building this project with React was a challenging journey, as the API was not set up for React. Integrating features of the 3D maps for use in React hooks took some creativity, but I’m really proud to have brought this project to life in React.

Accomplishments that I'm proud of

I'm happy that I was able to incorporate the flyCameraAround function, as it really brings the landscape to life, and showcases the diversity of the terrain in Seattle.
