Web platform service to provide interior arrangement recommendation/preview/storage to your spaces (room/house) using object detection API.

Help struggling people who are trying to arrange/decorate their rooms to improve their lives.

How we built it

Built with Naver Cloud Platform, especially object detection service & server.

Challenges we ran into

1. Automatic detection, only for the furniture/room elements.
2. Multiple image processing in front-end.
3. Constant communication of various types of data(e.g. image, location value, object category name ...) between the server.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We were able to use the object detection API from Naver Cloud Platform to make the whole detection process much simpler and faster.

What we learned

1. API requests for Naver Cloud Platform.
2. Code the application in a limited time.
3. How to design a User-friendly website.
4. Brainstorming and idea validation.

What's next for Fun-iture

Cropped images contain also the background, which can be neglected by adopting segmentation. So the quality of the cropped images can surely be improved. Locating all the existing furniture can be solved by space mapping through room edge detection. AR, 3D, and mobile web app are being considered in the future. Product suggestion for the user's spaces (for example using NAVER SHOP).
