Inspiration
We wanted to create an app that was entertaining and fun. The idea for a cat escape game is a spin-off of a survival project we had to complete in our computer science class. We started from scratch and decided on a new, cuter topic, cats.
What it does
KrazyKitties is an escape room-like game where the user plays as a kitten and tries to leave its home. There are many obstacles one must overcome including a spider-themed wack-a-mole mini game.
How we built it
We utilized the website code.org. It's very beginner-friendly and enabled us to work together by copying and pasting. First, we created all aspects of the user interface and then worked on the code.
Challenges we ran into
It was bothersome trying to figure out how to easily get code from one device to another. We ended up using Discord and email. A lot of patience was needed.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
Our app can be downloaded onto an iPhone. It feels much more tangible and the ability to share it with non-computer science knowing family and friends is great.
What we learned
We used a program that we were all already familiar with. However, spending continuous hours working on it honed our skills.
