FuelSwitcheroo is a website that makes switching from regular fuels to alternative fuels easier. You can enter an address or move a marker and it will show the closest alt. fuel stations near you.

Inspiration

We want to help the planet and reduce the emissions from car. We want a healthy and strong planet for generations to come.

What it does

It searches for alternative fuel gas stations near where you move the marker or the address you .

How we built it

We built it using Mapbox api and The National Renewable Energy Laboratory's developer network. We used HTML, CSS, Javascript. We used the Javascript to add the map to our HTML and used the Alternative fuels api to display the information of the nearest stations.

Challenges we ran into

We struggled with understanding the api so we spent time going through the documentation and were able to gather the JSON data we needed.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We're proud of using both apis together. We were intimidated at first but with teamwork and properly looking at the documentation we were able to figure it out.

What we learned

We learned how to work as a team and how to display data based on user input.

What's next for FuelSwitcheroo

We would like to expand our map area and make more filtered results.
