Inspiration

The inspiration for Fuel Bandhu came from the rising need for eco-friendly, cost-effective, and efficient transportation solutions in India. With fuel prices on the rise and the need to minimize carbon footprints, we envisioned a platform that connects carpoolers with passengers and integrates parcel delivery services to maximize utility. By tapping into already planned trips, Fuel Bandhu creates a sustainable and collaborative ecosystem.

What it does

Fuel Bandhu is a dual-purpose platform that facilitates:

  1. Carpooling: Connects drivers traveling long distances with passengers heading in the same direction.
  2. Parcel Delivery: Enables drivers to pick up parcels from nearby e-commerce warehouses or personal parcels requiring fast delivery and drop them off at their respective destinations.

  4. Warehouse selection for parcel pickup and drop-off.
  5. Video consent for personal parcels to ensure safety.
  6. Real-time tracking and route optimization for efficiency.

How we will build it

  1. Backend:
    • We will use Node.js and Python to handle user verification, matching algorithms, and route optimization.
    • APIs for Aadhaar verification and geo-location services will be integrated.
  2. Frontend:
    • We will design the frontend with React to create a clean and intuitive user interface for easy navigation and booking.
  3. Database:
    • MySQL will be used to manage user profiles, trip details, and transaction records.
  4. Core Features:
    • User registration with Aadhaar and driver license verification will be implemented.
    • Driver route mapping and warehouse selection functionality will be added.
    • Secure parcel handling will be ensured through video uploads for personal parcel consent.

Challenges

  1. Trust and Verification: Ensuring a secure verification process for both drivers and passengers without compromising privacy will be a significant challenge.
  2. Logistics Integration: Designing a system that seamlessly integrates carpooling with parcel delivery without disrupting planned trips will require complex algorithmic planning.
  3. User Experience: Balancing multiple features while keeping the platform simple and user-friendly will be a delicate task.
  4. Parcel Security: Implementing the video consent system for personal parcels while ensuring user compliance will be challenging but critical.
