Inspiration

I was reading the prompt and wanted to build something visual. I got interested in using tree to visualize file system.

What it does

You can browse any folder on your own computer on this FS visualizer and search files or folders. You can also add folder to the favorite list which is on the sidebar which quickly brings up the folder on the visualizer.

How we built it

Used JavaFX in Java

Challenges we ran into

I am not a good designer and not a visual-type person. It was challenging with UI design. One challenge was to decide how to place components on the visualizer.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

• Although I am not a professional designer nor developer, I am proud of completing my projects in one week. I liked seeing how all the components interact each other to visualize file system.

What we learned

• It was my first side project without instructions or other supervision. I learned how to manage the project in terms of time and planning.

What's next for FS Visualizer

While I was using the FS visualizer I was thinking about adding more features related to file management such as creating or deleting folder.
