Inspiration

Our inspiration was from the classic mobile game, Fruit Ninja. Beloved by most, played by everyone, we figured this game would be loads of fun in a VR version.

What it does

Simply enough, this game launches different fruits at you as you attempt to whack the fruits out of the air. After five misses, it's game over.

How we built it

We built this through our previous, limited knowledge of coding and Unity, along with help from AI.

Challenges we ran into

A few challenges we ran into were coding errors. If we ever need some code from AI and it didn't work correctly, we would have to go in and manually fix or alter it until we got the result we wanted.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We're proud that we got a working game. It may be simple, but as beginners to Unity, this inspires us to explore, create, and test the limits of our minds in Unity.

What we learned

We picked up a bit of C# while coding our game. As people who know C, it was interesting to see a different language and compare its similarities and differences.

What's next for Fruit Whacker

Next, we aim to create a much more pleasant viewing experience for the player. The game is in its simplest form, so adding decals, point systems, and even different game modes could be in the future.
