We love the idea of being able to pool money together with Like-minded people (whether that’s friends, family, or someone(s) new) that want to explore an idea together. What it does
⁃ FrugalFrenZ is a website that offers a unique approach to achieving your financial goals. With our customized payment plan feature, you can choose the frequency and goal that works best for you. But that's not all FrugalFrenZ also connects you with communities, friends, and family to fund a common goal or save together. You can track your progress and see a public leaderboard of others who have achieved their goals using FrugalFrenZ. Plus, you can budget and aspire to your goals all in one place, while seeing the contributions and progress of your team.
How we built it
⁃ Our website was built with a combination of cutting-edge technologies and powerful tools to provide a seamless user experience. Using the Nessie API, our development team was able to easily access banking data and integrate banking features into our website. We used Visual Studio Code to write our code in a streamlined and efficient way, utilizing a variety of programming languages such as JSON, HTML, CSS, Python, and SQL. The result is a website that not only looks great but also performs flawlessly, allowing users to access all the features they need to achieve their financial goals.
Challenges we ran into
⁃ Building a website is never an easy task, and our team faced its fair share of challenges. One of the biggest hurdles we faced was figuring out and cracking the API, which proved to be a complex and time-consuming process. Additionally, coming up with a unique idea that could stand out in a crowded market was no small feat. Time was also a significant challenge, as we had to balance tight deadlines with the need for high-quality work. Finally, we struggled with doubt at times, wondering if our idea would resonate with users or if we were on the right track. Despite these challenges, we persisted and ultimately delivered a website that we're proud of, thanks to our determination and teamwork.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
⁃ Our team overcame numerous challenges to bring our website to life, and we're incredibly proud of what we accomplished. One of our biggest accomplishments was finally figuring out how to implement Nessie API into our website, which allowed us to integrate essential banking features into our website. Additionally, we accomplished our goal of completing the project, despite facing tight deadlines and other obstacles along the way. Our tenacity, perseverance, and ability to stay the course even when we wanted to give up were key factors in our success. Finally, we're proud of our ability to maintain a high level of tolerance and respect for each other, even when we disagreed on certain aspects of the project. Together, we achieved something truly remarkable, and we're excited to see where our hard work will take us next.
What we learned
ALOTT ⁃ Our website project was not only a challenging but also an incredibly rewarding experience for our team. Throughout the development process, we learned a great deal about programming languages, how to implement them in different ways, and new aspects of computer science. Additionally, we discovered the importance of teamwork and how it can make or break a project. Delegating time and priorities was another valuable lesson, which allowed us to stay on track despite tight deadlines. Most importantly, we learned just how much we are capable of when we put our minds to it, and we're excited to take these lessons with us on our next project.
What's next for FrugalFrienZ
⁃ Our team is excited about the future of FrugalFrienZ and what lies ahead. Our immediate plan is to launch the website and make it accessible to the public, regardless of the outcome of this hackathon. We're committed to bringing this project to completion and delivering a platform that exceeds expectations. This project has been a truly eye-opening and inspiring experience for us, as it was our first hackathon and most challenging endeavor yet. We loved the process of brainstorming an idea and bringing it to life, and we're passionate about helping countless people reach their financial goals through FrugalFrienZ. We're excited to continue building and refining this platform, and we can't wait to see where it takes us.
