Inspiration

The inspiration came from games such "This world of mine", "Rimmworld", "Don't Starve Togheter". It also came from movies like "Titanic" and "The day after tomorrow"

What it does

Is a survival - managment game, where the player lives the threat of frozen weather while manages the crew and stockpile resources gathered in expeditions

How we built it

Designed around one question and dilemma: "Should I use resources to be alive one more night or should I upgrade the base"

Challenges we ran into

Try to explain systems that can get deep in a way that is simple enough for the documentation. The systems were too big and can be expanded a lot.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

A solid core loop where the user constantly send on expeditions and return to the base to solve the outcome and manage the crew members to maximize the outcome of resources.

What we learned

We learn that we must prioritize some system before geting in depth with others, have first a solid core loop and then expand.

What's next for Frozen Core

Frozen Core will expand its expedition system, crew specialization, and ship restoration mechanics. New sectors, survivor traits, and dynamic events will create deeper strategic decisions while preserving the core tension of balancing survival against progress.
