Inspiration
What it does
Inspiration
As a student, I often struggled with staying consistent, managing tasks, and balancing mental well-being, especially during high-pressure academic periods. I realized that many students face the same challenges, and existing tools either focus only on productivity or ignore emotional support. This inspired me to build FrostMind, an AI-powered assistant that combines productivity tracking with personalized guidance for mental well-being.
What I Learned
During this hackathon, I deepened my understanding of AI integration, frontend development with React, and building user-friendly interfaces. I also learned how to structure a project for maintainability and document it professionally for Devpost submissions.
How I Built It
- Frontend: React.js for a responsive and interactive UI
- Backend (optional): Node.js / Python with FastAPI
- AI: Google Gemini AI via Google AI Studio for personalized advice
- Version Control & Collaboration: GitHub for repository management
- Deployment: Vercel / Netlify for live app hosting
The app allows students to input their tasks, track consistency, and receive AI-driven suggestions for staying productive while considering their mental state.
Challenges Faced
The biggest challenges were integrating the AI for personalized suggestions and designing a simple yet functional interface. Time management was critical since this is a short-term hackathon project. However, careful planning and iterative testing helped overcome these challenges.
