Inspiration

The core inspiration for FrostBound Harvest is the tension found in the "cozy survival" genre—specifically the contrast between the peaceful, meditative aesthetic of farming simulators like Stardew Valley and the high-stakes, crisis-aversion pressure of survival games like Don't Starve. We wanted to challenge the assumption that farming games must be about endless expansion, instead creating a mobile-first experience focused on sustainability, preparation, and the "slow-burn" satisfaction of thriving through increasingly hostile seasonal cycles

What it does

FrostBound Harvest is a top-down, strategic survival-management game where players steward an isolated farmstead through a cyclical, ever-changing environment.

Challenges we ran into

Maintaining a relaxing visual aesthetic while ensuring the survival mechanics felt genuinely high-stakes was a constant design challenge. We solved this by using the environment as the primary antagonist rather than enemies or combat.
