Inspiration
Everyone building with Aicoo hits the same quiet problem: you create an AI that knows your whole world your bio, your prices, your availability, your calendar and then only you can use it. There's no safe way to hand a slice of it to the public.
Meanwhile, the people around us (founders, freelancers, creators) drown in the same repeated DMs all day: "What do you do?" "How much?" "Are you free this week?" and the tools meant to help, like a Calendly link, can put a meeting on a calendar but can't actually talk. We wanted a single link that talks, answers, and books, powered by the AI you already trust.
What it does
Frontdesk turns your Aicoo assistant into one shareable link. Drop it in your bio; anyone who clicks it can chat with your AI and book a real meeting, no signup, no app, nothing to install.
- One link, zero friction visitors click and start talking instantly.
- Answers from your info, never made up you paste your bio, prices, availability, FAQs; the desk answers only from that.
- Books real meetings give it a day and time and it writes a real event to your Google Calendar and returns a real Google Meet link.
- You stay in control each link is an Aicoo scoped share: read-only or allowed-to-book, with an expiry. A real boundary, not a prompt.
- Host dashboard see visitors, conversations, and bookings, with a delightful booking animation so waiting actually feels good.

How we built it
We made one decision that shaped everything: use Aicoo for the thing only Aicoo can do take real, account-connected actions and keep the rest fast.
- Scoped share links, the product itself. Aicoo lets you share a bounded slice of your AI. We made that the heart of Frontdesk: every desk link is one of these safe shares, so safety is a wall, not a promise.
- A "hybrid" engine for speed + realness. Simple questions are answered by a fast model (OpenRouter) in ~1-2s, while actual bookings go to Aicoo's real agent. A tiny intent router only hands a turn to Aicoo when there's a genuine day and time.
- Multi-tenant by design (BYOK). A host can paste their own Aicoo key so bookings land on their calendar and that key stays server-side, never exposed to the client.
- Stack: Next.js + React on Vercel, Upstash Redis for desks/conversations, and the Aicoo API for chat, scoped sharing, context, and calendar booking.
Challenges we ran into
- Booking looked broken but wasn't. One calendar tool 404'd on our account while another succeeded, so the agent narrated both and sounded like it failed. We forced the reliable path and made confirmations clean.
- A subtle routing bug. Our day-detector silently failed to match the word "Wednesday," so those bookings never reached Aicoo and the bot looped forever. We found it and added tests against the exact failing conversation.
- Serverless storage. Vercel's filesystem is read-only, so "create desk" failed in production until we moved to Upstash Redis.
Making slow feel fast. Instead of hiding the booking wait, we turned it into a calm, animated "concierge at work" that resolves into a confirmed-meeting card.
A genuinely real product, real link, real chat, real Google Calendar event, real Meet link, live on the internet, not a mock.
We turned Aicoo's scoped share links into a product, showcasing a core feature most people never discover.
The hybrid architecture that makes it feel as fast as a chatbot but as capable as a real agent.
Multi-tenant from day one anyone can run their own desk on their own calendar.
A premium, shipped-feeling UI (monochrome design, dark/light mode, the booking animation), built by a team of two.
What we learned
- The best Aicoo apps don't wrap a chatbot, they lean into the actions and scoped sharing that nothing else has.
- Speed is a product feature; a hybrid (fast model for talk, real agent for action) beats picking one.
- Honest UX, clean confirmations, no leaked error chatter, a wait that feels intentional, is what makes a demo feel like a real product.
