What it does

Inspiration 💡

Jordan is rich in history, culture, and breath-taking sights, yet many visitors and locals miss out on its hidden gems and authentic local experiences. "من هون أنا" (From Here I Am) was created to bridge this gap. We wanted to build an all-in-one digital gateway that uses modern web technologies and Artificial Intelligence to make exploring Jordan easy, accessible, and culturally enriching.

What it does 🚀

From Here I Am is an interactive cultural and tourism portal designed for Jordan. Key features include:

  • Interactive Map of Jordan: Clickable regions and 12 governorates with detailed guides on local attractions, weather, and heritage spots.
  • AI Jordanian Tour Guide (المساعد الأردني الذكي): An intelligent assistant powered by LLMs (Groq API) that answers travel queries, suggests tailored itineraries, and provides cultural insights in real time.
  • Cultural & Community Hub: Showcases traditional dishes, national initiatives, safe route maps, emergency contacts, and medical facilities to support both tourists and local communities.
  • Smart Quiz & Random Destination Generator: Engaging tools for users to test their knowledge or discover unpredictable travel spots in Jordan.

How we built it 🛠️

  • Frontend: Built using clean HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript with responsive glassmorphism UI for seamless desktop and mobile experiences.
  • AI Integration: Integrated Groq API for fast, local-context AI answers with a flexible API Key modal allowing direct real-time interaction.
  • Deployment & Version Control: Hosted via GitHub Pages for instant access and global availability.

Challenges we ran into 🧗‍♂️

  • AI Context Fine-Tuning: Ensuring the AI assistant accurately responds with authentic Jordanian culture, landmarks, and local Arabic dialect nuances.
  • Security & Client-side API Management: Designing a safe mechanism for API key usage on static web pages without exposing credentials.
