Inspiration
As technology continues to advance, people are slowly losing their touch with nature and staying inside more frequently. In return, issues like pollution and littering get overshadowed due to humanity’s disconnect from the Earth. It is naive to assume that removing the device itself would be the most effective method to get people to connect with the real world. Our goal was to meet people where they were at and give them a push in the right direction.
What it does
It promotes the mental and physical well-being of people by providing an incentive to go out and explore the outdoors. In the means of mental health, it allows people to be in stress-free environments and have some peace of mind. On the other hand, physically, it gives people another motive to go out more and be active while they look to complete challenges and such.
How we built it
We utilized a combination of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript in order to incorporate as much as we could in a way that was efficient and not so complicated.
Challenges we ran into
The biggest challenge of all was a lack of knowledge and unfamiliarity with coding languages used to create a UI that could portray our idea. As second years, only having used Python and Java it was definitely some challenge to learn how to utilize HTML, css, and javascript in a short amount of time.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We are proud of being able to take the time to learn the coding languages and apply them to a project we both had an interest in.
What we learned
Javascript, html, css
