Introducing Frisson, a mobile application to help music aficionados connect and share their music using daily interactive visual prompts.

Music is now undoubtedly woven into the very fabric of our contemporary society, it shapes and is shaped by the culture in which it exists. The growth of recent sound-driven social media apps such vine and tik-tok demonstrate the power of music trends in connecting a variety of music fans and creators around the world.

Over the past few decades, the way in which we consume music has changed dramatically, from vinyl, CD, mp3 to now streaming. Currently valued at 30 Billions USD, the global music streaming market size is expected to grow at a compound growth rate of 14.7% per annum until 2030. This leaves a huge market for supplementary apps to capitalize on this boom, and tap into musical social media platforms.

Frisson leverages Gen Z social trends to create an exciting app for showing off one's music taste to their friends. Every 24 hours, Frisson users are alerted with a new prompt, which may be an image, or a few words. In response to this prompt, the user chooses a song that they feel resonates with the prompt the most. Users around the world are able to see what songs other users put down, thus providing an avenue for new music discovery and exploration. After 24 hours, another new prompt is released and the analytics of the previous day is released, showing the most popular song entries across the globe.
