Inspiration
As lonely TJ students without social lives, we find ourselves constantly lusting for deep, intimate friendships. We determined we would appreciate an app on which one may find friends to connect with.
What it does
The website earns you friends you can count on and appreciate for the rest of your life by allowing you to search for others who you believe would be good friends.
How we built it
We used HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Node.js, and MySQL to create a back-end system that stores data and a front-end system that users can interact with and use to find others they can then connect with.
Challenges we ran into
We had an inability to link a MySQL database onto Replit. We found some database operations using the workaround we eventually found were still too difficult to complete in the time allotted.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We made an aesthetically pleasing banner. We also successfully created sign-up and login pages.
What we learned
We learned new programming languages and whatnot (SQL, HTML, PHP, etc.).
What's next for Friender
We plan to utilize additional database operations to allow for friends accepted to be added to the list. We also may add messaging abilities on the platform rather than linking social media.
