What it does
It shows each light color for a specific amount of time and display the countdown on the led screen. It keeps repeating as long as the program is running.
How we built it
We played around with circuits and modified the available codes provided online. This allows our traffic light project to work how we want.
Challenges we ran into
At one point, we decided to add a sound sensor into our project to detect how far a car is from the traffic light. We spent several hours on getting the sound sensor to work. Since it involved connecting a lot of wires and writing a lot of codes, we as beginners could not figure out how to make it work properly.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
This is our first time working with hardware, so we are proud of getting our project, incorporating an led screen and lights, to work.
What we learned
Through this event, we developed our understanding on how to work with an Arduino. We learned about circuits and how to code C++ with Arduino syntax.
