Inspiration

• We were inspired by our own experience with our groceries. As college students, it is hard to keep up with groceries, and easy waste a lot of food. We thought what if we had our fridge on our phones?

What it does

• Our app helps users track all their groceries by just scanning their receipts or entering items in manually. It allows them to log the expiration dates of their groceries and reminds the user when the expiration date is coming up. It can also keep track of how much you've spent each trip allowing our users to budget mindfully.

How we built it

• We utilized Figma to design our app.

Challenges we ran into

• This was our first time utilizing Figma and it was a learning curve in the beginning.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

• We were able to collaborate very easily. During the brainstorming phase of our project, we came up with many ideas that were eventually nixed but we are happy with the project we ended up choosing and we think it has great potential. We had a really fun time designing and brainstorming together and we believe that this app is something we could all use in our everyday lives.

What we learned

• We were all hesitant and intimidated by having to come up with an entire project in such a short time however as we started working it wasn't as hard as we thought it was gonna be and all of us were able to bring something to the table. We were also reassured by the fact that the project didn't have to be fully functioning or completely developed.

What's next for Fridgy App

• Because we had a relatively short time frame we weren't able to implement all the features of this app we wanted. Ideally, we'd have liked to have a budgeting tool where the user can set a budget and the app would generate grocery a grocery list from a nearby store within this budget.
