Inspiration
Based on the current environmental crisis as well as food waste being one of the main factors that help climate change we look for a way of helping the environment while also applying information technology to reach to a larger audience.
What it does
Based on AI, it scans a photo of your fridge and identifies and analyzes the ingredients you have. Based on this information it generates various recipes to help maximize your fridge as well as reduce food waste.
How we built it
In total we as a team used a bunch of different, mostly web-based technologies. We used mostly python for the AI and back-end design as well as React and Node.js for the front-end. We also used Javascript for testing and development purposes.
Challenges we ran into
Learning about AI is not easy, and in this case we really struggled with understanding some of the more advanced concepts about it. However, we kept on learning and used it to build a more durable, stable version of our project.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We're proud for overpass the technical, social and even physical obstacles that we as people we had to pass.
What we learned
We learned about the architecture of a LLM Model, how to create and train that, implementations of multiple back-ends with a lot of layers of abstraction.
What's next for Fridge.io
We hope that Fridge.io evolves into a potent brand, that inspire a lot of developers about the use of AI and how we can use it to resolve problems
