Inspiration
Tons of food is wasted by our respective tech companies every day. We witness this but often don't know what we can do to help. It turns out that San Francisco is missing 29 million meals per year, while Marin is missing 9 million meals per year.
What it does
Fridge aims to bring those numbers down by redistributing leftover food from private events, tech company lunches, grocery stores, and any other situation where pre-packaged food will go to waste.
How we built it
We used NodeJs as our back-end with jQuery and bootstrap on the front-end. We used mongodb as our database.
Challenges we ran into
We had some challenges configuring our mongodb database. Staying awake. Keeping the fun meter at a reasonable place.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We created an awesome UI and really each contributed a lot to the final product.
What we learned
How not to push to a shared repo. How to use express. How to schedule features using the rank ordering system.
What's next for Fridge
We're going to Disney Land!
