HackIllinois was an opportunity for me to learn and experiment with platforms and technologies that I did not have prior experience with. I decided to make a Pebble app because Pebble seemed to take great care in ensuring that newcomers to the platform could ease into development. I went through the Pebble.js tutorial and was amazed by how straightforward the process of building a Pebble app was. After deciding to develop on the Pebble platform, however, I had a hard time deciding on what kind of app to make. I knew I was very interested in working with an API of some sort, so I began my search. Eventually, I stumbled upon RottenTomatoes' public API. RottenTomatoes is a site that I visit regularly to get updated on the latest movies, but I did not previously know that they had an API. The API was well documented and easy to use, so I began building a Pebble app that displayed RottenTomatoes data. RottenTomatoes already has several mobile apps, but I would say my target user is any regular RottenTomatoes user who wants to have more options of viewing the website's data. When working on this project, I thought about the kind of interface I would want as a user. Therefore, I tried to keep the interface clean and simple. As a result, I would say I am most proud of the user interface.
