Inspiration
I wanted to build something to inspire the masses, to motivate the youth, to elevate us to a new degree. Not really, but at I wanted to try machine learning for the first time and had a midterm I didn't study enough for on the first day of McHacks.
What it does
You input your high school gpa and it uses machine learning to put it against a fake database made by yours truly and predicts how long you will probably need to study in order to pass.
How I built it
Used Microsoft Azure ML Studio, then I put it on an iphone app.
Challenges I ran into
THE API IS NOT WORKING. I'M HUNGRY. THERE ISN'T ENOUGH TIME. THE APP JUST CRASHED, I DIDN'T EVEN TOUCH ANYTHING! WHAT THE F@!& IS A REST API?!

I made friends like a real boy. I actually predicted accurate study times!
What I learned
Finally got around learning what a rest api is without just pulling source code of documentation, yes. 80% code takes 20% time. Freebies make you feel good. Other people are way ahead of me, but I can catch up pretty fast.
What's next for Freshman Rush
Not much, really. I'll definitely play more with machine learning though!
