Inspiration
We've all been in the position where we look in the fridge to find something to eat and even though it's full of delicious ingredients, we just don't know how to put them together. So many of us want to eat healthy, but don't have time to buy specialty ingredients at the supermarket, so we created a platform to make eating healthy and reducing waste easy.
What it does
Identifies food ingredients in a user-provided image and generates healthy recipes using these ingredients.
How we built it
Using React node HTML/JavaScript/CSS LogMeal API, Google Gemma
Challenges we ran into
Our initial plan was too ambitious for the timeframe we had to complete the project. Integrating the APIs was difficult.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
Creating a functional web application that can help others in their daily lives
What we learned
Important to prioritize the user over the features to ensure the product makes their lives better.
What's next for FreshLens
With time, we'd like to upgrade to a premium AI model for improved object recognition
