I wanted to build Fresho as a real AI-powered fresh juice business rather than just another AI demo. Fresh juice businesses have to manage customers, orders, inventory, production and marketing at the same time, so I wanted AI to actually help with those business decisions.

What I built

Fresho connects the complete customer and business journey: customers can browse juices, ask Fresho AI questions, get product recommendations, place orders and track them. On the business side, the owner can manage orders, customers, inventory and recipes, while Gemini provides business insights, demand recommendations, marketing ideas and a daily business brief.

How I built it

I built Fresho using Next.js, React, TypeScript, Clerk, Firebase/Firestore and Gemini. I then deployed the application on Google Cloud using Cloud Run, Cloud Build and Artifact Registry. This allowed me to move from a local application to a real production deployment.

What I learned

The biggest lesson was that building an AI application is not just about connecting an API. The AI becomes much more useful when it works with real business data. I learned how to connect customer activity, orders, inventory and business intelligence into one system and how to deploy the complete application on Google Cloud.

Challenges

One of the biggest challenges was connecting the different parts of the system reliably, especially authentication, Firestore, inventory, orders and AI. I also faced deployment issues when moving from local development to Cloud Run, including environment variables and Firebase authentication. Debugging these issues helped me understand the difference between a locally working application and a production-ready application.

Why Fresho is different

Fresho doesn't use AI as just a chatbot feature. The goal is to make AI part of the actual business workflow, helping the owner understand customers, demand, inventory and marketing decisions.
