Inspiration

While we have many social media apps and payments apps individually, we require a common platform for both of them. Especially for college students who need a payments platform, and who are under the age of 18. Our inspiration is taken from modern applications such as WhatsApp, fampay, etc., to develop a common social media platform cum payment site.

What it does

It is a web stack application that allows social media features like creating a post, deleting a post, giving the fame of the day, and payment gateway. Not just that we also have a DIY, F&Q to get to know your friends or to simply know how much your friends know about you.

How we built it

While there is a plethora of possibilities while building an application, we have chosen the MERN stack, namely MongoDB, Express JS, React JS, and Node JS frameworks. This application is built cleanly under a detailed code explanation. It is a component-based development project. The different pages it consists of include, Create page, Home page, Following, F&Q, Dashboard, My following Post, Profile pages, and, Signup and Sign-in pages.

Challenges we ran into

There are multiple challenges we have run into while coding the application. These include the complexity of coordination between the client and server-side application. The security of transactions is yet another challenge we have run into. The Maintainability and Performance of the application has been tough to make up to.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

The project's completion in and of itself might be considered a noteworthy achievement given the difficulty of creating an application of this complexity. Producing a usable product that satisfies the specifications and adds value for users can be a noteworthy achievement. It can be difficult to scale a programme to support a huge user base, thus doing so successfully can be a noteworthy achievement. A significant accomplishment can be achieved by performance-optimizing the application to offer an excellent user experience.

What we learned

We learnt many things during this, namely planning is critical, scalability is a big concern, security should be a top priority, Performance is crucial for user experience, maintainability is vital for long-term success, and continuous reprogramming is essential.

What's next for FrenScope

The next steps include improvement of the frontend UI and UX, and making the application much more scalable and available in terms. Not just that, but once the final cycle of development completes, the application is going to be deployed for global use, for both, college students and such. This application is also going to make up payment gateways for cross-platform payments.
