Inspiration

Learning a new language can be a daunting task, and failing a language class can be demotivating. This is why when faced with the challenge of learning French and struggling in class, I (Josh) decided to take matters into my own hands and build a French conjugator to aid your studies.

Challenges

One of the most significant obstacles we encountered was learning how to connect the backend to the frontend with Flask and MySQL. Additionally, because our knowledge of French is very (I mean very) shallow, we did have to use google translate at times to be able to parse Json.

How we built it

For the front end we used React while for the backend we used Python Flask with MySQL

Accomplishments We're Proud of

While we definitely underestimated how hard React State management would be, we are super proud to have a working back-end as none of us had used Python for backend before this hackathon!

What's next

Definitely UI stuff and beautifying our project, haha! We spent so much time creating tables and working on CRUD actions that we had no time to do the CSS
