We were inspired by our personal experiences as we often had fruits or vegetables in our pantries and fridges from days prior that we wanted to know when would expire or go bad.

freïse keeps track of food inventory and reminds users of products that may spoil soon through a system that combines cameras and sensors, accessible at any moment through its app.

We used both software and hardware to create a digital reminder system and physical sensor that keeps track of what is in your fridge or pantry. For software, we used Kotlin and for the hardware, we coded with Python.

We faced challenges in determining how to optimize our mold detection services so that they would be efficient and fast. As a result, we researched and found that ethylene gas is released when fruits or vegetables mold, and we implemented that into our product.

We converted a daily challenge that is widely experienced into a comprehensive product that uses chemistry and digital systems, allowing everyday users to manage their nutrition.

We learned skills in entrepreneurship and technology, which are crucial to succeeding in the modern technological world.

Starting from independent consumers, freïse plans to expand to cooperations with fridge manufacturers to integrate its functions into the market and consumer needs.
