Inspiration
The world runs on logistics, without trucks we wouldn't have anything from our appliances, beds, sofas and even our ice cream! So we got to thinking, how could we make trucks come faster? and the industry prosper?
What it does
What FreightBite does, is give everyone the piece of the pie. Small owner operator truck drivers can now work with others to help them complete their load, and while they help others. They too can also jump in and pick up legs (smaller-distance loads) to help those that have exhausted their hours in a day due to regulations. It helps speed up the flow of trucks and commerce, but also extends the wages and earnings given!
How we built it
We built it using Node.js, Express, Supabase (so important), React, TypeScript, Tailwind
Challenges we ran into
Getting information from brokers and getting loads for these truckers to use, without API keys from major companies. We can't really get the most up to date information, we plan on reaching out to these companies to get an efficient solution implemented.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
- PDF/Image OCR Parser creation
- Live GPS Integration
- Automation Tools
- Real world use case
What we learned
- Having an efficient plan for being able to handle large amounts of data helps immensely. As invoices/BOF can have lots of information and this can benefit small businesses' immensely.
What's next for FreightBite
- API Key integration from J.B Hunt 360, DAT, Amazon Relay, Coyote Freight
- Real time market analysis varying by location
- Networking for truckers (less likely to use LinkedIn due to informal practices)
- Onboarding Process
Built With
