Inspiration
I wanted a faster way to find freelancers without posting a job and waiting for replies. What if finding someone was as easy as swiping through their work?
What it does
Pick a skill, browse freelancer cards, and swipe to skip or save. Save someone you like to see their contact details and reach out directly. Freelancers can also add a profile with their skills and portfolio.
How we built it
I used React, TypeScript, Vite, and Claude Code, following the Devpost Learn AI Basics steps from planning to launch. The app runs on GitHub Pages and saves data in your browser.
Challenges we ran into
Keeping the project small was the hardest part. I focused on browsing and connecting, leaving chat, payments, and a shared database for later.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
The full demo works: create a profile, find it by skill, swipe, and save it. Saved profiles stay there after refreshing the page.
What we learned
Clear plans and small steps make working with an AI agent easier. Asking questions before coding helped avoid confusion and extra work.
What's next for Freelancer Swipe
Add a shared database, accounts, and profile editing so people can find each other across devices.
