Inspiration: A close friend of ours once had to sleep overnight at a railway station after missing hotel bookings and having an early train to catch. This unsettling experience made us realize the challenges and vulnerabilities solo travelers, especially women, often face. FreeBird was born out of a desire to provide safety, convenience, and support for female solo travelers, ensuring that no one has to feel stranded or unsafe during their journeys.
FreeBird is a mobile app designed to empower solo women travelers with tools for safer and smarter journeys. Key features include: Emergency Location Sharing at intervals using NFC tag integration (for phone-less tracking) Instant Hotel Check-in Alerts to parents or guardians AI-Powered Travel Assistant to help with itinerary planning, accommodation tracking, and local navigation Community-Sourced Travel Tips from other female travelers SOS Mode for quick alerts and location sharing when needed
