Inspiration
Thousands of organizations are offering free or discounted services that are helpful to people all over the world impacted by the crisis. However, announcements of these services are often drowned out in a sea of news. Both parties suffer in this case - people are unable to benefit from these services and organizations cannot reach out to their customers.
What it does
FCS (Free Covid Services) is an open-source, curated, localized directory of organizations offering high-quality services for free or at a discounted rate due to the COVID-19 pandemic. These services include everything from free theatre streams to business software. With FCS, small businesses can reach out to more customers and customers can benefit from their services.
These services are highly curated, only presenting the most helpful, relevant and impactful services to users. This is achieved by building a community of curators who constantly look for relevant services to add to the directory. Organizations can also submit a request to be added via a simple form on the website.
What's next for Free Covid Services (FCS)
Currently, FCS shows services available globally. The next step is to build a localized service for services with geographic or customer limitations, such as offers only available in a certain country or those only available to health workers.
