Inspiration

This movie is about teenage anxiety, and the quiet resilience it takes to live with it. I wanted to create a visual that captures what these feelings look and feel like, so others know they’re not alone.

What it does

Fragments began as a film about memory and how the body remembers what the mind edits out. I wasn’t interested in nostalgia so much as that in-between state, when a memory starts to fade but still pulses somewhere beneath our skin. I wanted the camera to behave like a thought that keeps returning, reshaping everything around it. The film is about the impossibility of holding onto what defines us.

How we built it

I used AI tools on every step of production: from ideation, writing prompts, music creation as well as the transitions. Tools used. Krea for the images, Hailuo and Sora for animation, Topaz for upscaling and Elevenlabs for the music and Kling for the sound effects.

Challenges we ran into

Not sure if this was a challenge, but knowing when to stop and pick a generation. Since each generation is like a different twist or path a film can go.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

It was a finalist for the WXSA Amsterdam Film Festival

What we learned

I learned how to train LORA with Krea and how to prompt better for animation.

What's next for Fragments

Submit the film to more festivals.
