Inspiration
Working with complex fraction calculations, mixed numbers, and step-by-step simplification often leads to manual mistakes. I built this tool to provide students, teachers, and developers with an instant, ad-free, and precise fraction solver.
What it does
The Fraction Calculator performs instant arithmetic operations on fractions:
- Operations: Addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
- Conversion: Automatically handles proper, improper, and mixed fractions.
- Simplification: Reduces fraction results to their lowest terms using Greatest Common Divisor (GCD) logic.
How I built it
The web utility is built using pure JavaScript for client-side state processing, providing immediate mathematical evaluation without full page reloads. Modern CSS3 and responsive HTML5 guarantee smooth usage on desktop and mobile browsers, deployed via Blogger.
Challenges I ran into
Implementing reliable GCD logic for simplifying large fractions efficiently while maintaining clean handling for mixed-number inputs took careful algorithmic tuning.
What's next for Global Tools Box
I plan to add fraction-to-decimal step-by-step breakdowns and expand the math section with algebraic utilities.
