Inspiration
The board game Risk and digital game FPSChess were our main inspiration
What it does
The game plays out like a standard game of Risk, but whenever you attempt to takeover an enemy's territory, you're thrown into an FPS fight against them!
How we built it
We built this using Unity and coding in C#.
Challenges we ran into
Unity was vastly different from any platform the majority of our team had used in the past, and we struggled a lot trying to share the project between our team. Two of our team members were also pretty new to C# and had to learn it in just a few hours as they worked on our game.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We're really proud of how our game turned out! It's a fun experience and puts a great twist on one of our favorite board games. We're especially proud of being able to put this together despite all the challenges using Github, Unity Plastic, and C#.
What we learned
We not only learned a lot more about C# and Unity, but we also gained a lot more experience with time management and how to work under pressure with upcoming deadlines.
What's next for FPSRisque
Our game is definitely not finished! While it is playable and fun even today, we plan on improving many different elements of the game and one day releasing it as a real, finished game. If we had more time, we would work on improving our enemy AI and creating a better UI for our users.
