Inspiration

We love RPG games! Especially the upgrade mechanic. We thought it would be cool to integrate that into a self help app and make mental health and productivity more fun, like our favorite games.

What it does

Foxy Fighter (ideally) lets you add tasks to a list, and when completed you get coins to buy upgrades like armor and weapons. You'll also take damage from falling axes, and get potions to restore your health.

How we built it

We built the game in Unity using C#.

Challenges we ran into

We faced a lot of challenges throughout the development process, as our group was new to Unity. Learning to draw and integrate sprites was a significant hurdle, especially since we had to run to an electronics store to find a stylus. Understanding the different functionalities of C# and Unity was another major obstacle. Managing various components, such as sprite creation, building the game's economy, and C# scripting, often felt overwhelming. Despite the steep learning curve and numerous moving parts, the experience provided us with valuable insights into game development.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

Before this weekend, none of us had ever touched Unity, so it was a huge learning curve to make this project. We also drew the main sprites ourselves!

What we learned

How to build a game in Unity!

What's next for Foxy Fighter

We hope to integrate all our parts and create a functioning game that we can play!
