Inspiration

We wanted to make stock analysis simple and fast for everyday users by turning complex market data into an easy-to-understand ranking system.

What it does

It analyzes stocks in real time and ranks them using a custom score based on momentum, daily returns, volatility, and liquidity.

How we built it

We built a React frontend with a backend API that fetches live market data and processes it into a scoring algorithm that generates rankings. Kaylee Palacios - developed the backend, handling data processing, API integration with Polygon.io, and the stock ranking logic. Richie Rojas - built the frontend, designing and implementing the user interface that displays stock charts, scores, and volatility metrics. Daniel Hernandez - created the presentation slides, organizing and communicating our project’s purpose, features, and technical implementation for the demo. Corey left the project during development.

Challenges we ran into

Handling real-time data updates, balancing the scoring formula, and connecting the frontend to live backend data without delays. Another huge problem we faced was trying to implement Vultr. We attempted to upload our backend onto a server through Vultr but sadly we unable to get our accounts verified in time since it took up to 48 hours.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

Building a fully functional live ranking system and successfully designing a custom stock scoring model that produces meaningful results.

What we learned

We learned how to work with financial APIs, improve full-stack integration, and design better data-driven decision systems.

What's next for FoxDen Syndicate Stock Analyzer

Add more advanced indicators, improve prediction accuracy with machine learning, and expand to a full investment insight platform. Additionally, we would like to upload our backend server onto Vultr cloud services as well as broadcasting our frontend to a proper website.
