- Difficulties in keeping plants
What it does
Modular plant pots enable "lego-like" customization and connection. A single pot will display the name of the plant, input by the user.
How we built it
Users input plant names and other relevant information within the Android app, which is stored in SQLite. Users can then choose to display a specific plant's name to display on a pot.
Challenges we ran into
No experience with circuitry and Arduino programming, circuits did not work most of the time. Lots of Googling on Java and SQLite syntax. Yet to figure out how to display to multiple OLEDs.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
- Creating something that runs.
- Sending data over from an Android app to OLED display.
What we learned
- Some basic circuitry.
- Creating a simple functioning Android app.
- Utilizing the EEPROM on the Arduino.
- Using an HC-05 Module.
What's next for Four Seasoning
- Letting Arduino run without a laptop connection.
- Sending information to multiple pots instead of a single pot.
- Background timers and implementation of the progress bar to show timing to the next watering cycle.
- Four Seasoning Community to let users share their experiences and progress
