Inspiration
I wanted to make a simple and fun program that mashed together some popular retro games into a relaxing and fun experience.
What it does
Combines four popular arcade-style games into infinitely randomized sequences which adapts difficulty across games based on how you are playing.
How we built it
I used Python and the pygame library to write all of the code. Some assistance of ChatGPT was used to make the visuals for the icons on the game.
Challenges I ran into
Coding four games was hard, especially being by myself I did not have many ideas and had to just get started right away. My original idea was to incorporate AI into the project to make it much more adaptive and original, but I did not have the time or resources to do so, so I just ended up making my own version of the experience.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
There's a local leaderboard to keep track of how well you did, and it was a rewarding task to make these games under such limited time.
What we learned
I learned not to spontaneously do a 24-hour hackathon, and to plan out projects better before I just jump in and code them.
What's next for Four Quarters
I might improve some of the functionality, but this was mainly just a small project that was fun to make and hopefully fun to play.
