Inspiration

Many founders and students have great startup ideas, but they struggle with one key step: turning an idea into a clear and practical MVP plan. Most AI tools generate generic feature lists or random suggestions, but they do not provide a structured roadmap or execution strategy.

We wanted to build something that acts like a product architect, not just a chatbot. A tool that could take a raw idea and convert it into a clear, structured, and actionable MVP blueprint.

That idea became Foundry.

What it does

Foundry is an AI-powered MVP architect that transforms startup ideas into structured product blueprints. Instead of just generating text, it produces:

  • Core feature breakdown
  • Priority-based MVP scope
  • Implementation roadmap
  • Resource allocation plan
  • Competitive positioning
  • Strategic case study insights

This helps founders move from idea → structured plan → first launch much faster.

How we built it

The project was built using:

  • Google Gemini as the core LLM
  • Prompt engineering to generate structured MVP outputs
  • Context-based generation for different sections:
    • Blueprint
    • Roadmap
    • Competitors
    • Case studies

Frontend:

  • Web-based interface
  • Sectioned UI for blueprint, roadmap, competitors, and case studies
  • Structured cards and layouts for readability

The system converts a natural language startup idea into a full MVP plan using carefully designed prompts and formatting.

Challenges we ran into

  • Structuring AI outputs into consistent, readable sections
  • Preventing overly generic or unrealistic feature suggestions
  • Handling preview and UI rendering errors during development
  • Balancing strategic insights with practical implementation steps
