Inspiration
Startup founders make million-dollar decisions using nothing but gut instinct and Google searches. I wanted to build something that changes that — a real intelligence platform built specifically for founders.
What It Does
FounderAI is a 5-page AI startup intelligence platform:
- Command Center — Startup health score, AI daily action, live news feed
- Competitor War Room — Auto-discovers competitors, tracks funding, hiring signals & Reddit sentiment
- Validate & Build — 8-axis idea radar chart, investor kill questions, TAM/SAM/SOM, Business Model Canvas
- Fund & Finance — Financial simulator with live charts, investor matching, pitch deck builder
- Operate & Grow — Legal wizard, team org chart, 90-day roadmap, launch countdown
How I Built It
Built entirely on MeDo with no code.
Tech stack:
- React + Tailwind CSS + Framer Motion
- Recharts for all data visualizations
- Groq AI (Llama 3.1) via Supabase Edge Function
- HackerNews API + Reddit API for live data
- Supabase for auth and storage
- Radix UI + Lucide React
The core innovation: enter your startup idea once → AI analyzes everything → every page populates with intelligence specific to YOUR startup. Not generic advice.
Challenges
Making it genuinely useful rather than just pretty. The challenge was combining real live data (HackerNews, Reddit) with AI analysis to give founders specific, actionable intelligence — not what ChatGPT gives when you ask "validate my idea."
What I Learned
- MeDo is powerful enough to build production-quality SaaS products
- Prompt engineering transforms a generic AI into a genuine specialist
- Free APIs can make an app feel truly live and professional
What's Next
- Crunchbase API for real funding data
- Google Trends for market timing
